Gender Based Violence

Umtata women’s support Centre provides counseling services to all victims of gender based violence as the organization seeks to empower victims to be able to stand up for themselves and fight or report gender based violence behavior happening to them or to people around them.

Human Trafficking

UWSC is brain child of Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) that set up the Centre as a result of approaches from desperate women, police and media reports on crime especially on women which also affects children

Women’s Human Rights

The organization further extends its services for eradicating gender based violence by teaching and creating awareness to rural communities of KSD local municipality through conducting awareness campaigns in these rural communities for example Masiphungeni (let’s have a cup of tea)  Rural Women Empowerment group.

HIV/AIDS

UWSC was found in 1999 to be a Centre in O. R Tambo District Municipality and its surroundings that will actively transform the way society deal with gender based violence meaning, to have educational program and interventions thereof on social problems such as physical, emotional and sexual abuse
